Una delle maggiori bellezze di Anzio, conosciuta in tutto il Mondo, è la Villa Imperiale. Rispetto ad oggi, le proporzioni della Villa erano maggiori: essa si estendeva dalla costa, inoltrandosi nelle acque del mare con interessanti e suggestive soluzioni architettoniche, fino all’entroterra, la cui struttura di articolava in padiglioni, terme, giardini, fontane, terrazzi e belvederi. Nei vasti ed eleganti ambienti interni si svolgevano spettacoli con danze e musiche destinate all’intrattenimento degli ospiti imperiali.
La Villa nella sua storia ha avuto varie evoluzioni e modifiche nei diversi periodi storici, che possono essere distinti in 5 principali fasi: la fase Repubblicana ed Augustea, la fase Neroniana, la fase Domiziana, la fase Adrianea e la fase Severiana.

One of the greatest beauties of Anzio, known throughout the world, is the Imperial Villa. Compared to nowadays ruins, the proportions of the Villa in the past were much greater: indeed, it extended from the coast, penetrating the waters of the sea with suggestive architectural shapes, up to the hinterland, whose structure was divided into pavilions, baths, gardens, fountains and terraces. In its vast and elegant interiors many musical and dancing shows took place for the entertainment of imperial guests. The Villa has had various evolutions throughout the historical periods that can be distinguished in 5 phases: the Republican and Augustean phases, the Neronian phase, the Domitian phase, the Adrianea phase and the Severian phase.
